Zhao Leji

Zhao Leji is the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and a former head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI). His leadership at the CCDI played a major role in China’s anti-corruption campaigns, which disciplined hundreds of thousands of officials. Supporters credit him with increasing administrative discipline and oversight, while critics argue that anti-corruption drives were also used to consolidate political power. In the NPC role, Zhao focuses on legislative harmonization, governance supervision, and legal reforms aligned with Party priorities.
