Sahle-Work Zewde

Sahle-Work Zewde is President of Ethiopia (largely ceremonial head of state) and a veteran diplomat with decades of international experience. Appointed to the presidency in 2018, she is the country’s first female president and has emphasized diplomacy, gender equality, and national unity. Her role is principally representative, and she remains a respected figure in Ethiopia’s diplomatic community.
