About Mustafa Al-Kadhimi

Mustafa Al-Kadhimi (b. 1967) served as Prime Minister from May 2020 to October 2022. A former intelligence chief and independent technocrat, his short premiership emphasised security, anti-corruption rhetoric, and diplomacy between regional powers. Kadhimi survived an assassination attempt in 2021 and has remained an influential national figure.
