About Mohamed Morsi

Mohamed Morsi (1951–2019) was Egypt’s first democratically elected president (2012–2013). A Muslim Brotherhood leader with an academic engineering background, his brief presidency focused on transitional governance, security, and economic challenges. He was removed from office in 2013; subsequent legal cases and his death in custody in 2019 remain politically sensitive.
