About Alain Berset

Alain Berset (b.1972) is a Swiss politician and academic who served on the Federal Council (2012–2023) and was President of the Confederation in 2018 and 2023. An economist by training, Berset led public-health and social-policy work during the COVID-19 pandemic and later became Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
