Abiy Ahmed

Abiy Ahmed is Prime Minister of Ethiopia (since 2018). He launched a series of political and economic reforms early in his tenure, won the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for regional peacemaking, and has overseen major development initiatives. His period in office has also included significant internal security challenges (Tigray and other regional conflicts) and criticism related to human rights. His governance mixes reformist rhetoric with strong executive authority.
